Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts have finally released the live action, CGI heavy Titanfall short video produced by visual effect studio Playfight.
The project was first teased in March prior to the release of the game at yourtitanisready.com. Playfight previously showed a small portion of the video, but released it in its entirety for Gamescom 2014.
Titled Titanfall: Free the Frontier, the video follows a Frontier Militia pilot as he lands on a planet and engages in battle. We get to see him perform a bunch of signature Titanfall moves like wall-running, rodeoing a Titan, and using his Smart Pistol.
If you're a Call of Duty fan, you might remember Playfight from its Call of Duty live action short Operation Kingfish. Titanfall: Free the Frontier, directed by William Chang, is just as fast, loud, and explosive, which is an appropriate tribute to the game.
During EA's Gamescom briefing, Respawn announced the third expansion for Titanfall. As detailed on the game's website, it's called IMC Rising, and will launch this fall for Xbox and PC. It includes three maps (Backwater, Zone 18, Sandtrap), and follows previously released Titanfall expansions Frontier's Edge and Expedition.
