The timing may not be the best, but Nintendo has chosen April Fools' Day to reveal some new news about the Wii U and 3DS. You'll be able to watch the stream live through the video above, and we'll update this story with headlines and details on all the announcements.

The presentation will start live at 3PM PST (6PM EDT/ 9AM in the AU / 11PM in the UK).

While the rest of the Internet is focused on making things up, Nintendo promised in a tweet that this "is no joke." While the developer has a lot it could potentially talk about, we probably won't hear anything quite yet about the upcoming NX console or the Legend of Zelda for Wii U, which Nintendo recently announced would be skipping this year's E3.

Here are some of the highlights:

We have lots of information on the next few Amiibo waves, including all the included characters, but here are some details on the games that will make the most use of these upcoming Amiibo:

  • Yoshi's Wooly World will include two modes: the traditonal Classic and the easier Mellow Mode. Whenever you're having trouble in the game, you can switch to Mellow Mode for access to winged Yoshi. The game will also include a new plush Amiibo.
  • Splatoon will include off-screen co-op. One player will be able to play off the TV screen using a setup like the Pro Controller while the other player plays off the Wii U GamePad.

Fatal Frame is coming to the Wii U in the US! This Japan-only entry in the horror franchise came out last year, but Nintendo announced that it'll be coming to the West as well.
