Watch New Final Fantasy XV Cinematic Trailer Shown at Gamescom
No release date for Square Enix's upcoming fantasy role-playing game.
Square Enix has released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XV that reveals a glimpse at events which took place 15 years before the main story in the game.
Titled Dawn, the trailer begins with Lunafreya as a young girl being attacked by someone in armor. In another scene, protagonist Noctis is shown as a sleeping young boy being held by his father, Regis, who cries and whispers, "I will be with you... always."

The trailer did not reveal a release date for the game.
Square Enix has confirmed that more information about Final Fantasy XV will be revealed during Gamescom, during a live broadcast on August 5 at 9 AM PDT / 12 Noon EDT. The event will be streamed live on Twitch. The publisher also announced that it will be debuting "new, never-before-seen" gameplay footage.
Final Fantasy XV will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A demo, titled Episode Duscae, was released alongside Final Fantasy Type-0 HD in March this year. Square Enix incorporated fan feedback which resulted from the demo and released an updated version, titled Episode Duscae 2.0.
Final Fantasy XV was not present at E3 this year, with publisher Square Enix electing to show the game at this Gamescom. GameSpot will be covering the show live so be sure to stay tuned to our hub for the biggest news as it hits.
