Given the level of publicity and coverage for the DC cinematic universe over the past few months, it's easy to forget that to date only one film in the franchise has been released--2014's Man of Steel. This will change next week when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice finally hits cinemas. In the meantime, a new international trailer has been released: Check it out below:

Batman star Ben Affleck spoke to EW recently about taking on the role of the caped crusader, and where the character stands as the film begins. "He's very disillusioned and very bitter," he said. "He's projecting in some ways his own sense of failure, his own sense of disillusionment, his own cynicism onto Superman, having at one point been certainly much more idealistic about what he was doing."

Affleck also revealed that his Batman did at one stage have a Robin, who is no longer with him. "He's bitterly disappointed in the past that he's lost this guy who fought by his side," he said. "That character's death must have been devastating to him, and he's suffered. We get the sense that he's suffered a lot of devastating losses before this movie even starts."

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25, 2016. It also stars Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Laurence Fishburne.
