Watch Keanu Reeves' Badass Firearm Training for John Wick 2

Keanu shreds.

The 2014 thriller John Wick was one of the most enjoyable action movies of recent years, and its upcoming sequel is much anticipated. Now a new video of star Keanu Reeves preparing for the gun-toting lead role in John Wick: Chapter Two has been released--check it below:

The first movie featured Reeves as a vengeful ex-hitman who takes on the Russian mob. It also starred Willem Dafoe, Bridget Moynahan, Ian McShane, and John Leguizamo.

Reeves spoke recently to IGN about the follow-up, and how this second dose of high-octane action would differ from the first movie. "For us it was just, what is the next chapter? What is the continuation of this story?" he said. "Opening up the world--the underground world. The world behind the world in terms of the assassins. Kind of evolving the action.

"If the first one was a black belt, then this one is third degree black belt. It's such a fun project and a great character."

John Wick: Chapter Two will also see Reeves reunite with Lawrence Fishburne, his co-star from the sci-fi blockbuster The Matrix, and its sequels. "He plays such a great character in the piece," Reeves explained. "He brings humour, intelligence, charisma, and fascination--he's such an incredible actor and it was a pleasure to work with him again."

John Wick: Chapter Two is set to hit cinemas in February 2017.

John Wick was a great movie, Keanu was not the reason it was though. They could've probably put any other action star in that role and it would've either been just as good or better. Hell they could've put the old fart Bruce Willis in his place and it would've been better. Keanu is just a bad actor all around.

Better hope Keanu never goes postal...

Oh bloody hell, that's wicked, John Wick's one of those films that'll be a classic in the future, quite under rated, just like Dredd, among a few other great ones.

holy crap, screw Bruce Willis, Keanu Reeves would undoubtfully best him in a gun fight

Can't wait. John Wick was my favourite movie of 2014.

I remember when people were trying to hate on the movie before it came out. Everyone was saying that it would be forgotten in a week due to "a stupid story and mindless action". John Wick ended up being one of the best films of the year and the haters have nothing they can complain about without looking dumb,

John Wick proved that movies don't all need to be pretentious Academy Award material to be considered good. I can't wait for the sequel.

Fantastic movie. The director is obviously a fan of video games, you could see the influence.

Avatar image for keichimorisato9

@hughthehand88: hell the ending of the film where he fights the one mob boss with his fist, felt like something ripped straight out of the Yakuza games.

Movie was very entertaining.

Avatar image for jyml8582

the movie resonated with people because it was what every man would do, if some punk ass Russian kid breaks into our house and takes our prized ride....oh and kills our dead wife's dog in the process, was that really necessary, Theon?

Can not wait for this!

Surprised they're making another, it had such a simple story. Nothing deep and meaningful about it.

Avatar image for dnsfw_jamus

@kaalkurayami: it's getting a sequel because:1) it made money (specifically, it more than quadrupled it's budget), and 2) it was fun to watch.

wasnt supposed to be deep or meaningful, just like most stuff, it never tried to be.

Avatar image for pezzott1

@kaalkurayami: Still the movie has awesome production value. I loved the first one and can't wait for the second one.

Avatar image for dnsfw_jamus

@pezzott1: yeah no kidding, for a movie with a 20m dollar budget it looked great.

John Wick was fracking awesome......simple setup to the action, something seemingly so small set's him off yet it made's more about don't just screw someone over cus they have something you want, that person could end up being the boogie man....or in Wick's case a retired hitman for the underworld.....

looking forward to the sequel and that training vid is great.....

John Wick was a surprisingly good film and was one of the most entertaining of the year. Can't wait to see the second.

How many dogs have to die?!

@snugglebear: lol I hope this doesnt become Keanu's 'Taken' franchise....

How can a man be even more bad ass the older they get? Keanu is about to reach Chuck Norris status.

Avatar image for dnsfw_jamus

@CyrusDrake20: that tends to be the case, up to a point, they tend to be more brash and inexperienced when theyre younger, more stoic and experienced when they get older, and more gibbering and pant-shitting when they get older still.

Avatar image for ecurl143

@CyrusDrake20: lol - great quote man.

Avatar image for iandizion713

O hells yes, John Wick was the best movie that year. Sucks he gets no respect since hes no longer big money. O well, thats the world we live in. One day Keanu will get the respect as an actor he deserves. Good write up by IGN. Good stuff.

Avatar image for dnsfw_jamus

@iandizion713: to be fair, he was never really big money. also he left showbiz mostly voluntarily for a while, and considering the cast of John Wick the first, and the budget of 20m dollars, you can bet that a lot of the reason people signed on was because he was in it.

Avatar image for brownyyy

@iandizion713: Totally agree i put it up there with the RAID films just a great action film.
