Watch Dogs reveal was 'forced' at E3 2012 by Ubisoft
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot pushed for Watch Dogs to be officially unveiled at E3 2012.
Developer Ubisoft Montreal was "forced" by publisher Ubisoft to reveal Watch Dogs at E3 in 2012, a report on Polygon has revealed.
According to an interview first published in the April 2014 issue of Edge magazine, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot pushed for it to happen.
Speaking to Edge, Watch Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin said, "They forced us to go at E3 2012. Yves was the one who wanted us to go at that E3, even though we felt it was a bit early."
However, Morin eventually came to agree with Yves' decision, saying, "In the end, I think he was right."
Watch Dogs launches May 27 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game recently had its rating increased to R18+ in Australia for "references to sexual violence and sex scenes".
The Wii U version will be released sometime later. For more on the game, be sure to check out GameSpot editor Shaun McInnis' recent extensive hands-on preview of the game.
