Is Ubisoft preparing to make a major announcement about its upcoming open-world action game Watch Dogs? Maybe, according to product manager David Thériault. He teased on Twitter today that it is going to be a "big week" for the game and its developers at Ubisoft Montreal.

Images posted (and then removed) on PlayStation.com last week told fans to expect a new trailer for Watch Dogs that would not only show off the new game but reveal its release date. No trailer has been released and the game's official release date remains a mystery.

Watch Dogs was originally expected to launch in November as a launch title for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but Ubisoft delayed the game to spring 2014 to give the game more polish. Officially, Watch Dogs is due to release by June 30, and that's presumably why so many retailers are currently pegging the game to launch on that day.

One of 2014's most anticipated games, Watch Dogs is set in a fictional version of Chicago and casts players as master hacker Aiden Pearce. The game is in development for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, and Wii U. The Wii U version will be released sometime after the other versions, though it's unclear how long Nintendo fans will need to wait.
