Watch Castlevania Dev Igarashi Crack a Whip to Celebrate Bloodstained's New Publisher

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, now has a publisher, developer Inti Creates announced on Kickstarter.

Inti Creates released a video to announce it will work with 505 Games to publish the Castlevania successor. 505's previous work has been publishing games like Sniper Elite III and Payday 2. The Kickstarter announcement says that "one of the first things a publisher can help out with is action-packed video production." The video features Igarashi cracking a whip, and you can see it for yourself below.

"Although we have started this project through Kickstarter, we wanted more people to play now that we are in full production," Igarashi said in the above video. "However, we believe this isn't possible with our power alone. We are so grateful that a publisher with a vast marketing power such as 505 Games will be working with our small production team.

"Now that we cannot let everyone down, let's harder to develop Bloodstained together," Igarashi exclaimed.

In addition to brief messages from Igarashi and 505 Games president Ian Howe, the video shows Igarashi playing Bloodstained and talking to another developer about certain aspects of the game, including where Kickstarter backer portraits will be situated in the world. Unfortunately, the gameplay is limited to running around an empty hallway.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is slated to release in 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U, Vita, Mac, and Linux. It was originally scheduled for a 2017 release but got delayed last month.

The Castlevania successor was funded through Kickstarter with over $5.5 million from almost 65,000 backers. It was the most funded Kickstarter game ever before Shenmue 3 took the top spot later that year.
