Chris Evans saves the day.

A new live-action trailer for Activision's Call of Duty Online, a free-to-play version of the juggernaut shooter series for China, stars Captain American actor Chris Evans.

The tongue-in-cheek trailer shows four regular soldiers pinned down by enemy forces and seemingly without hope. That's until Evans steps in with a rocket launcher to turn the tide.

"You can thank me later," Evans quips, leading one of the other soldiers to say, "Who does he think he is? Some kind of Hollywood action hero?"

Call of Duty Online is a free-to-play game supported by microtransactions. Activision has partnered with Chinese Internet giant Tencent to release the game in the country. So far, the game has been announced only for China. It is available today through an open beta.

Evans is not the first celebrity Activision has used to help sell Call of Duty games. The publisher previously tapped actors such as Robert Downey Jr., Megan Fox, and Taylor Kitsch for other Call of Duty video spots.
