Interplay Entertainment has revealed that its upcoming action-strategy game Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising will feature a storyline written by the award-winning author Warren Ellis. Ellis is responsible for the best-selling graphic novel series Transmetropolitan, as well as a number of other books, graphic novels, and comic books.

Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising will be Ellis' first story published in interactive media. The game takes place in the future, long after all the war production machinery has been discarded at the bottom of the ocean. When a group of warmongers threatens the global peace, a war production vessel known as the Antaeus is brought to the surface in order to combat the threat. Players assume command of the vessel and the combat units it produces. Since there are no longer any pilots who know how to operate the different vehicles, individual units are controlled by soulcatcher chips, which contain the minds of dead soldiers.

Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising is currently in development at Rage Software, and it is scheduled for release in mid-May.
