Free-to-play PC and console game Warframe this week will make a world record attempt, and it's one of the strangest ones we can recall. Developer Digital Extremes has announced that this Friday, November 14, it will attempt to set the new world record for "The Largest Gathering of People Wearing False Mustaches Simultaneously in a Video Game."

Digital Extremes is calling on the Warframe community to display their in-game facial hair on November 14 between 3 PM - 6 PM Eastern to help set the world record. The developer recently released a handful of virtual mustaches that players can wear in-game.

It's all part of Digital Extremes' effort to raise awareness for men's health as part of the annual Movember campaign, where men are encouraged to grow beards. The more donations Warframe players make to Movember, the more in-game mustaches will be released in-game.

To date, Digital Extremes has raised more than $7,600 for Movember. You can read more about Warframe's Movember campaign and donate through the game's website.

The virtual mustaches are available in Warframe on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The world record attempt will be broadcast live on Warframe's Twitch channel this Friday. Digital Extremes has even enlisted a local university professor to verify the record, and players are encouraged to send in screenshots of their mustachioed Warframe characters.
