Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming 3D real-time strategy game, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, is expected to reach the beta stage of development in early 2002, according to a company representative. Blizzard also released a new screenshot from the game that shows off the dread lord, one of the undead heroes, along with a look at the undead interface. Each playable race in the game will feature a different interface. The scene features a group of undead units in an undead town, surrounded by blight, which is the unholy force that gives life to the undead.

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is the next game in Blizzard's popular Warcraft real-time strategy series. The new game will include a number of improvements, including a new 3D engine, hero units, and four playable races. The game is in development at Blizzard and scheduled for release in June or July of 2002. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
