Walmart PS5 And Xbox Series X Restocked Now [Update: Sold Out]

The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will be available on Walmart again next week, during its Black Friday sale.

Update: Due to high demand, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S restock will not be available on Walmart again until next Wednesday, November 25 at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET, as part of Walmart's Black Friday 2020 Deals For Days event.

Didn't manage to get an Xbox Series X, Series S, or PS5 yet but don't want to press your luck on Black Friday? Walmart isn't going to make you wait, as the retailer has a new supply of each of the systems today. You don't have to purchase them in bundles, unlike some competitors, and it's one of the last chances to order them before Black Friday. Especially if you want to buy the Xbox Series X and PS5, you don't want to miss out.

Available right now, the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5, and PS5 Digital Edition are available for order on Walmart.com. This is an online-only restock "while supplies last," meaning you'll want to be ready to purchase them promptly. The launch day PS5 and Xbox Series X restocks at Walmart sold out within minutes amid site crashes and slow loading times, so a good deal of luck is required here as well.

We've seen the next-gen consoles pop up sporadically online since their initial preorder dates, but they've often been featured in very expensive bundles with extra headsets, controllers, and subscriptions you may not want. With the Walmart restock, you can buy only the console and can then buy anything else you want afterward. We highly recommend placing your order for the console first and then placing a separate order for games and accessories. This will make it more likely that you are able to secure the console itself.

If you miss your chance today, the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be available in GameStop stores when they open at 7 AM on Friday, November 27. Meanwhile, Walmart will restock the consoles online next Wednesday, November 25, at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET. This will likely be an extremely busy time for people trying to get the console. Walmart will be starting its full online Black Friday sale at the same time.

This needs to be removed from the "front page" of Gamespot as it is from a prior day, and not currently available. There is no merit in it remaining there with the headline still in "present tense" form, as if this were an active listing, rather than a past listing not currently available.

Please remove this article from the front page, or change the headline to reflect that it is past-tense.

Has anyone noticed how this gen has been rolled out? Not as a brave departure to a new horizon of visuals and gameplay, but like changing the parts on a PC for a better build. The new era feels like an extension of the old one for both consoles.

That being said, I LOVE SSD CONSOLE GAMING! Destiny 2 taking 5 seconds instead of 5 minutes to load a zone cannot be underscored enough in improving the gaming experience.

@ZombieVirolina: I am going say ray tracing is going to be the big thing to do for most publishers to grab the audience and sales.

4K is just sharper images, it’s nice but not super important.

Is anyone else very disappointed with this launch lineup? It's a lot of slightly improved last gen games. The main marquis game on PS5, Demon's Soul's, while great, is still a PS3 remake. Where are the truly next gen IPs that will spawn franchises? Where is another Gears of War 1, another Mass Effect 1? I hope in one years time we will have seen some groundbreaking truly next-gen titles.

I hear you. It's imortant to note that these machines are upper mid tier PC's by "last gen's" standards (cpu and gpu wise). Which is a pretty good deal considering you can get them for just 500 each.

You will regularly see them punch above their weight since optimisation for a fixed platform goes a very long way.

That said, there is no magic going on here. The laws of physics still apply. The power required to run contemporary AAA games at 4K/60 leaves little to no headroom for additional bells and whistles.

It's why Ubisoft had to resort to 30fps for watch dogs legion because they absolutely HAD to have Ray Tracing in there.

tl;dr version: PS5 and Series X can run last gen games at 4K/60 but that's it. If you want more graphical bells and whistles it's back to dynamic res and 30 fps.

@DarksjeiK: this...

I keep telling the people that are expecting "next gen" to be like NES vs SNES or SNES vs N64 that they are going to be disappointed. The hardware that the xboxsx and ps5 are using has more or less been out for 3+ years now (a 1080ti is/was equal to a ps5/xboxsx GPU). Developers have "had the pwr!" To do "new experiences" for years.

Its just like what happened with the xbox1X and PS4Pro. Console gamers are going to have to come to grips with the fact that each console generation now is most likely to be a 1 year old mid grade gaming PC. And thats not a bad thing! It means they will see steady improvements in performance and should have solid backwards compatibility. They also shouldn't have the issue of the games taking 5 years to "squeeze all the performance" out of the system like happened with nintendo and the PS3 and others. Of course they also won't be able to fall back onto "games will get faster as developers better understand the hardware" since its the same hardware they are already using on PCs.

I've come to the conclusion that these consoles dont actually exist, its clearly some weird marketing stunt and theres no such thing as xbox sx and ps5, it's all a crazy conspiracy, theres no way a company who actually wants to sell thier product would distribute 2/4 units per store, surely that's absolutely stupid right?? I'm gonna blow this whole thing wide open! It's the Pelican brief part 2! Nailed it!!

@cherub1000:

Agreed. I’m in Australia & still am still waiting for my PS5 which didn’t arrive on launch day because the store I purchased it from only got 1/3 of the units they were assured were coming, meanwhile America keeps getting shipment after shipment from Sony. There are Americans who bought their PS5 2 months after I did who are getting their consoles before me. I’ll believe the bastard thing exists only when & if I ever start playing my first game on it. I’m not even hopeful I’ll see it before Easter next year at this point.

@cherub1000: I know you are joking but the reality is if they stocked up stores people would wait in lines and things would be crowded. It would be really bad publicity for Sony jf there was superspreading events across the world because people want PS5s.

@Vaildez: yeah I know bud, and I do see the sense in how it's being done to avoid public crowding, and of course it's a good thing. I'm just being a brat I guess, these are frustrating times for us all. Everyone wants a break, just have to wait our turn and remain as rational as we can.

XBOX series X is pretty small line smaller than a mini tower.

XBOX series S is small but the PS5 is freaking huge.

What was Sony thinking when they design it? Is the PS5 so big to keep the temperatures down?

@systemoverload: They’ll eventually do a smaller version. It’a still the best looking console though. It finally doesn’t look like a boring-ass box. It’s the only modern looking thing out there right now.

First iteration is always humongous. By year 4, it will be the size of a book.

I do like the form of the XBSX. It stands out as much as the Xfinity Wi-Fi router.

Boy this site has changed after the last generation. I called a scalper a scumbag on this site after he, a self-described scalper, said that all the school kids were idiots for buying the product(PS4&360) after it was scalped.

I got a week suspension from this wonderful site. I blogged about it, then the mods suspended me again for blogging about it.

This is far too easy and yet retailers make it so complicated. When I wanted to buy a laptop from Best Buy, I went to my local store, they had me make the purchase from my car on their site, they then brought the laptop out to my car. In other words, curbside pickup. So no major coronavirus issues. The way to deal with these scalpers is to send the millions of consoles being manufactured to stores as they have ALWAYS done in past launches. Then, if people want a console, they'll have to physically drive to the store and purchase one from curbside and have it brought out to them. Scalpers can't break that system when it requires you to physically be somewhere in person. This "online only" system is a complete failure for gamers and Sony and Microsoft know it and don't care.

They really do create a lot of frustration when the item shows as being in the cart, you click the final "process order," and it takes you back a screen, loops this repeatedly as you repeatedly finalize the order, and then you're ultimately told it's out of stock again.

Scalpers are scumbags, but the idiots who panic and get desperate pay the scumbag scalpers. You want to combat scalpers using their bot programs... Simply do not buy from them. Be patient and wait til you can walk in and buy one. Find other activities to keep you busy to not even think about it. For the rest of 2020 just forget it most are doing "online only" you're not going to be able to be faster than those scumbags using a bot program. So let them sit on them do not buy.

The problem isn't the scalpers. It's the people buying overpriced consoles from the scalpers. If they didn't have people willing to pay 2-3x the price and encouraging this behaviour this wouldn't be an issue.

@Vaildez: As a primarily PC Gamer who gets the PS for exclusives and to play games with my wife, the scalper prices would be better put toward building a medium to medium-high end gaming PC that could outperform both the new generation consoles in many regards.

The reason the scalpers are even doing it is that they know there are thousands of kids out there who if they don't get the PS5 on Christmas Morning, there is going to be epic hell to pay. Even during a severe recession and a pandemic.

@lost_in_space_: dude, just write it off in your head until march next year, the release of these consoles has been a complete and total cruise ship disaster! Distribution has been a deliberate and colossal mess that could've been handled so much better.

all the etailers have to do to help is simple. once the item is in your cart. it is yours for a couple of minutes to check out. take it out of your inventory then not when sale is complete. many sites do this. why cant big box stores do this....dumb

Someone needs to build an Ebay bot that "buys" all the scalpers consoles but just leaves them unpaid. Like have the scalper with seven PS5s think he just sold them all at $2000 a piece only to have the "purchases" sit in payment for a week. Then as soon as they re-list them, same happens again.

Fight bots with bots.

Get this. I got screwed over at Walmart during the launch day sale of the XBSX when I got my order locked in and an hour later had it voided because they ran out. I got a call today saying that since they got new stock in, they were holding one for me.

HOW NOVEL...when you run out, just place the people that didn’t get one when stock ran out on back order. We’re dealing with real brain trusts that this was thought of by complete fricking accident.

@ZombieVirolina:That would be nice but unfortunately most retailers, in big box stores anyway, aren't nice. A mom and pop store would probably do that but otherwise not likely to happen. In reality that's what pre-sales from MS should be, you place your pre-order and it places you in the queue, they could even accept payment to make sure you are legit, but then as units become available they just start shipping to those who have already pre-ordered. WHY would you limit your pre-orders to a specified amount? Bad business practice IMO. Just keep taking orders and fill them as fast as possible.

The scalpers beat you all to them, as they did the last time, as they will do again next week.

Honestly, if you don't already have one, forget about it until next year.
