1C Company has today released new information on Vivisector: Beast Inside, a first-person shooter currently in development at Kiev-based Action Forms. In the game, players will assume the role of a sailor who goes ashore on Soreo Isle and discovers that the island is inhabited by aggressive animals that boast humanlike attributes. The humanimals and modbeasts, as they're referred to in today's press release, are in fact the products of an experiment conducted by the mysterious Dr. Morhead (think H.G. Wells' Dr. Moreau) in 1878, and the game will feature around 16 levels full of them for players to fight their way through.

Vivisector: Beast Inside is currently scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2004. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
