2877818Recent reports have indicated that VisionTek's financial future is uncertain. The company, one of the biggest producers of Nvidia-based graphics cards for the US retail market, has issued a statement to clarify the options available to VisionTek's creditors, who are seeking to get the maximum value for the company's assets. One possible outcome is that VisionTek may remain intact and be sold to another company.

The statement specifies that "A Assignee/Trustee as been appointed, and will attempt to maximize the value of the company's assets. His belief is that the assets have a higher value as a "turn-key" operation rather than in a liquidation. The Trustee is continuing to operate the company to determine if a sale is a viable alternative to a liquidation, and he is currently talking to interested parties. The company is continuing to take orders, ship products, and honor rebates."

Financial changes may not affect current owners of VisionTek cards. VisionTek representative John Malley said that "Tech Support and warranties will continue unaffected. Our plan is to find a way to make this work in the long term. We still have a full tech support staff answering emails and the phones."

In any case, since VisionTek cards closely follow the reference design, card owners can be assured that Nvidia's reference drivers will support those cards well into the future.
