Virtual British Open Begins Next Week

To celebrate the recent release of its British Open Championship Golf game, Looking Glass Technologies and GolfWeb are sponsoring the Virtual British Open. To participate, PC duffers must own a copy of Looking Glass' British Open Championship Golf and download a starter ticket from the tournament web site. The competition begins on May 15 with a four-week qualifying period, after which the top 156 players will advance to a final round. The winner of the tournament will receive an all-expense paid trip to this year's British Open, which will be in Scotland.

Although British Open Championship Golf was released a little over a week ago, and no figures are available yet, a Looking Glass spokesman told GS that it is selling very well and the feedback has been "tremendous."
