Sega of America today announced the professional tennis players that will be featured in the forthcoming Virtua Tennis 3. The game is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2007 on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Portable.

Leading the roster of women is 2006 Wimbledon champion Amelie Mauresmo, the current number-one ranked player on the WTA. Though he just had a 55-match winning streak in North America broken, Roger Federer remains the top-ranked male player in the world and will also be featured in the game. Both players drew number-one seeds in the upcoming US Open.

This year, Virtua Tennis 3 adds new minigames to the mix, as well as court games, a multiplayer mode that adds "an innovative and quirky twist." This latest edition of the franchise will also let players compete in matches of up to five sets.
