Virtua Fighter 4 PS2 update
Originally thought to be released in February, the game's release date is now set for March 2002.
GameSpot has learned that the North American release of Virtua Fighter 4 for the Sony PlayStation 2 is now set for March of next year. Sega has also updated us on the development status of the game. Sega seems highly enthused about the game, as company officials feel that particularly visually it stands up quite well when compared to the competition.
"I recently did a side by side comparison of Virtua Fighter 4 versus Tekken 4, and you can see the visual difference," SOA's Charles Bellfield told GameSpot. "The game is a great fighting experience, because there is now more depth to it. It is not just in the graphical features, but now the game has a full training mode for the PS2 version" Also new to the PS2 game, is the so-called AI mode and a grade system, which is similar to the character access card from the Japanese arcade version.
The game's Japanese release is still slated for January 31, 2002.
