Virtua Cop Re-birth heads to PlayStation 2

Sega has revealed plans on its official Web site to release Virtua Cop Re-birth for the PlayStation 2. Though details are scarce, the release date in Japan is set for August 15, with the price of 5,800 yen (US$47). Virtua Cop first appeared in arcades back in 1994 and was later released on the Saturn and Dreamcast consoles. No official US date has been announced by Sega, but the game has popped up on at least one retailer release list under the name Virtua Cop 1 and 2.
