From the team that created Virtua Tennis comes Virtua Athlete 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast. The game allows players to compete in the long jump, high jump, 110-meter high hurdles, 100-meter dash, shot put, javelin throw, and 1500-meter run. Players can customize their athletes, exchange them with friends, train for various events, and compare scores with other Dreamcast owners worldwide on the Virtua Athlete homepage.

"With the Olympics ready to begin, we are proud to have such an outstanding track and field offering," said Kevin Sullivan, vice president of sales and marketing for Agetec. "Using motion-capturing techniques, Virtua Athlete brings the athletes to life and adds an amazing amount of realism to the title."

The game retails for US$39.99 and is being published in the US by Agetec.
