Nine games make up Virgin Interactive's E3 lineup this year. Among the games debuting are Sabre Ace: Conflict Over Korea, NHL Powerplay '98, Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror, Subspace, and two Westwood Studios titles - Lands of Lore II: Guardians of Destiny and Blade Runner.

In Sabre Ace: Conflict Over Korea, players are given a realistic flight simulation in one of 45 historical missions. They choose from five different aircraft used during the Korean War to bring either the US or Soviet forces a victory. The game will be available in September for the PC CD-ROM.

NHL Powerplay '98 continues Virgin's sports line as the sequel to NHL Powerplay '96. Motion capture technology was used to produce realistic play movement, and the action is captured in an on-the-fly 3-D environment. NHL Powerplay '98 will be available at the start of the hockey season in September for both the PC CD-ROM and PlayStation.

Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror is an adventure game that pulls players in with its storyline and graphics, creating the mysterious world where its story takes place. As an American visiting Paris, the gamer finds his girlfriend mysteriously kidnapped. She resurfaces, and together they must stop a drug lord's plans to awaken an evil Mayan deity. Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror will be available in the fourth quarter for the PC CD-ROM.

SubSpace created a phenomenon with the online gaming community, which immediately got addicted to this shooter's multiplayer features. This top-down shooting game takes the standard shooter genre and pits players against each other to see who will be defeated and who will stand alone.
