Ark 2 has been announced during The Game Awards, and it features a major actor. Vin Diesel will play a leading role in the game, and the first-look trailer revealed at The Game Awards shows his likeness fighting enemies and running from dinosaurs.

The trailer, which does not feature any gameplay footage, shows Vin and his kin dealing with all sorts of enemies--and eventually emerging into a world that looks to be rife with futuristic technology. The trailer shows the danger posed by the dinosaurs, but human-like enemies will also appear throughout the game.

A release window was not announced. The game comes from Studio Wildcard, the developer of the first game. In a tweet, the studio promised that the game will be a "next gen online multiplayer sandbox".

In a tweet, Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg said Ark II is being developed exclusively for Xbox Series X|S, but it's not clear if this is a timed-exclusive or a full exclusive. The first Ark recently received a major update for Xbox Series X, overhauling the game's graphics--which could be seen as an early glimpse of how the sequel might look.

Ark is also getting an animated series in 2022, with a huge cast of names. Diesel is on that cast, too, alongside Russell Crowe, Michelle Yeoh, Jeffrey Wright, Karl Urban, and more.
