It wasn't exactly a blockbuster week in terms of news, but we've got some great stuff for you nonetheless. Here's a rundown of what you may have missed.

Small Soldiers by Dreamworks Interactive is gettin' ready to play this holiday season. Based on the summer movie of the same name, you play as a member of the Commando Elite against the evil Gorgonites. Small Soldiers is a third person-perspective action title that doesn't follow the story of the movie, but rather, the "story" of the movie's toys. Be sure to check out the screenshots we've got and a movie of the game's enemies.

Silicon Knights, the original developers of Crystal Dynamics' Legacy of Kain are trying to block the company from publicizing the sequel further. They contend that Crystal Dynamics took the idea for Kain 2 from a game the company was developing independently. Crystal Dynamics later issued a statement saying that it expects the court to rule in its favor.

Nintendo shuffled the deck of Nintendo 64 releases this week, attaching a date to the most-anticipated N64 game of the year (Zelda) and giving a good projection of when others are headed your way. Read the details here.

Several ex-Sony employees from the technical side of the bridge jumped to VM Labs, the company behind the ultrasecret Project X console, which is rumored to use DVD as its format du jour. About 50 developers are currently working on games for the system, which is tentatively scheduled for a late '98 release.

Alien Resurrection and Croc 2 are two of the titles set to make their debut at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Atlanta. We've got your screens of Alien Resurrection right here.

The sequel to Shadows of the Empire on the N64 is currently under way at LucasArts. Not a true sequel, the game's expected to take more twists and turns. It's likely that LucasArts will self-publish this title. And making a PC release later on is also likely.

Taito's amazing G Darius shows up on the PlayStation - who would've thought that it could be done on the PS? Take a look at the first screens right here. So who's going to pick this one up for the US? Anyone?
