Viagame are investing in Hearthstone once again. The Modern Times Group company has announced another significant Hearthstone tournament in October of this year after the successful Viagame Hearthstone Championship at DreamHack Summer which peaked out at 55,000 concurrent viewers.

Dubbed the Viagame House Cup, the tournament features 16 players- 8 invited and 8 from online qualifiers - to compete in Stockholm, Sweden for a prizepool of $20,000. The players will have their accommodation, travel and living expenses paid by Viagame according to the press release.

The two online qualifiers are scheduled for the 13th/14th of September and the 20th/21st of September where 256 players compete for the 8 qualifier slots. Viagame states that they will be selected by ladder ranking and achievements, and states that additional information will be provided later this week.

“Hearthstone is one of the fastest growing eSports and we’re happy to have 16 of the best players duke it out here in Stockholm. Our latest tournament in June was a huge success but now it’s time to further develop competitive Hearthstone with a new competition format.” says Simon Sundén, Content Manager at Viagame.

The entrance of Viagame into Hearthstone may fill the void that the demise of ESGN caused in the Hearthstone community.
