US console charts: September 5-11

I see people make comments on the source of the counts all the time and i bet if you looked at the sales from eb, walmart, blockbuster or any other outlet that sells games theres little to no difference in them, we all buy the same crap over and over anyway, the stores matter very little. Am i saying they would all be exactly the same? no, but i bet its closer than than anyone thinks it is.

also to complain that bestbuy is a stupid place to get this info is dumb as well regardless of where you buy your games bestbuy still sells a lot even if you hardly ever buy your games there do you only buy madden games do you only buy mario its still averaged out people dont go to eb games for liberty stories for psp and go to bestbuy for mario kart for ds and walmart for saints row thats the only way that this list wouldnt be valid and in which case no list would be valid

sony has sold 106 million ps2s world wide i would expect to see ps2 for a while even though you won see to many xbox gamecube games on the list being that only 24 million xbox worldwide and 21 million game cubes worldwide were sold

I agree. I RARELY buy games at best buy, let alone buy them from Bestbuy.com unless I have a giftcard or something. They should try to get sales figures from EB Games/Gamestop.

Maybe it's just me, but these charts just don't seem accurate. GS should use somebody besides Best Buy for these stats. I don't even buy my games from BB unless I'm impulse buying. Which is a rare thing. I go to BB for CDs and DVDs.

Roytheviking: I'm sorry, but that was a stupid statement. the ps2 has been out forever and is in nearly every gamers household. tens of millions of ps2's are all ready out there and alot of poeple are waiting to decide what next gen system to go with.

DS continues to dominate... Dont you see that the DS > PSP Even though PSP is far superior hardware? This leads me to reason that Wii > Ps3.. same scenerio.

i am a psp fan, but i bought mine to play games. the ds obviously seems to have been worth shipping before the psp, just like the 360 was worth being shipped before the ps3. just one thing....why new super mario bros AGAIN?! i mean i like the game, but 3 months on top?!

Compared to most surveys or polls you read about that tend to be a "random sampling of 500 people contacted by telephone", I think using Bestbuy as a national indicator is definitely more indicative of the whole industry.

wow... allmost everyweek there is something to wonder about, like the all top ten in japan a few weeks ago. but this is something to... mario selling out Madden in America while madden is released in late august and mario in half may.... thats amazing :P

ok, so these numbers are up to Sept. 11. LSW2 didn't get released untill Sept. 12. Unless BestBuy.com broke street date, or these are based on pre-orders something is very wrong here. Great numbers guys.

Call me a fanboy, but I just love seing Mario be where he deserves to be -- on top. Nintendo's invaded us with so many crappy side titles that we forgot what made Mario so great, and this time, we get to see it again... That game just pwns everything else I've played these past few months, glad to see it hang on. Mario Kart DS is kickin, too !
