Comments

Just prior to E3, Konami announced ESPN MLS Gamenight, the first soccer game to utilize a full MLS license. Today, GameSpot has more details and new screenshots from the game. MLS Gamenight, now endorsed by the Tampa Bay Mutiny star Carlos Valderamma, will feature all twelve, fully-licensed MLS teams, fifty-three international-style teams, a create-a-player option, a multi-pass system, separate ball and player physics, and an advanced on-field team management system.

The game will also make full use of the ESPN license, with play-by-play commentary from ESPN announcer Bob Ley. A bilingual mode is also included, with text and menus in both English and Spanish, and commentary from famed soccer announcer Louis "Goooooaaaaallllllll" Tapia.

The game is being developed by the team responsible for the popular International Superstar Soccer, using the same 1 1/4 game engine. ESPN MLS Gamenight will be released for the Sony PlayStation in summer 2000.
