Unreal Tournament 2 in the works

Infogrames has confirmed reports that Digital Extremes is developing a sequel to Unreal Tournament, the popular 1999 multiplayer shooter. The publisher did not reveal any further details, but it indicated that artwork and information would be released soon.

Unreal Tournament was released by GT Interactive in November 1999 and won GameSpot's Action Game of the Year award for that year. It was praised for its numerous multiplayer modes, such as assault, domination, capture the flag, and last man standing, in addition to traditional deathmatch. We'll post more information about the upcoming sequel as it becomes available.
