Underground on tour with Tony Hawk

Activision to hold video-game tournaments concurrent with skater's arena tour; winner gets a skateboard from Hawk himself.

To help hype its massively anticipated game Tony Hawk’s Underground, Activision is tagging along with the skate legend's Boom Boom HuckJam arena tour. Even though the tour started on October 1st in Vancouver, the publisher didn't announce its own Tony Hawk’s Underground Face Off Mobile Tour until today. Hitting cities in California, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York--among other states--the tour ends in Plantation, Florida, on November 15. A full itinerary can be accessed via the official Underground site.

Held the day before each Boom Boom HuckJam event, the THUG Face Off Mobile Tour competitions consist of four, 45-minute high-score challenges, where players compete in two-minute, high-score heats. The four finalists from each competition will receive a pair of VIP tickets to the Boom Boom HuckJam. The two highest scoring players will compete during the HuckJam's intermission, with the champion winning a Tony Hawk skateboard deck, presented and signed by the champion skater.

The THUG Face Off Mobile Tour will also be featured in a series of 30-second spots on G4, Comcast's TV network for gamers.
