The Uncharted movie is finally happening. For real this time. Mark Wahlberg, who is playing Sully, has now spoken more about the movie, revealing when it starts shooting and what viewers can expect.

He told Collider that filming is scheduled to begin in "about two weeks time," so sometime in March. This matches up with what Nathan Drake actor Tom Holland already said.

Regarding the story, Walhberg said it's "more of an origin story" that will focus on the first time Drake and Sully met. They eventually overcome their differences and become friends, according to the actor. Wahlberg also compared the Uncharted movie to Indiana Jones, which makes a lot of sense given both stories are about an archaeologist-adventurer who travels the world, destroying precious historical sites and killing people.

"I felt like when I was reading it, I was reading Indiana Jones or Thomas Crown Affair," he said. "It's got these great elements of these heist movies and adventure movies like I've never been a part of."

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception included a flashback sequence featuring a young Nathan Drake and the first time he met Sully, so it appears the movie is using at least some of that.

Wahlberg was originally attached to star in the Uncharted movie as Nathan Drake, but that was many years ago. The actor said the movie didn't move along fast enough, and he became too old to play Drake. This was a similar situation to one of his best movies, The Fighter, where he had to get the movie done when he was young enough to look the part.

"Even with The Fighter, there was a ticking clock there. There was that biological clock. We gotta’ get going quickly," he said.

Wahlberg earned an Academy Award nomination for his role as Sergeant Dignam in Martin Scorsese's Best Picture-winning mobster movie The Departed. As mentioned, he also starred in David O. Russell's The Fighter, for which he earned the Best Picture nomination for his producing role.

The Uncharted movie has assembled a huge cast of top talent. In addition to Holland and Wahlberg, the movie will star another Oscar-nominated actor, Antonio Banderas. Additionally, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle have been cast in the lead female roles.

Ruben Fleischer, who directed Sony's Zombieland franchise and Venom more recently, has closed a deal to direct the Uncharted movie.
