Uncharted 4: A Thief's End comes out tomorrow, May 10, and it's now been confirmed that you will need to download not only a 5 GB 1.01 patch, but also a smaller 1.02 update before you can get started.

DualShockers reports that the 1.02 update was made available today on the PSN for people who already have the game. Its patch notes don't offer much in the way of specifics, however, saying only that the update will add "general fixes and improvements." The update is only around 140 MB.

As for the 5 GB 1.01 update, this adds Photo Mode, Weapon Selector, and Encounter Select, among other things. You can see the full patch notes here.

Uncharted 4 launches on May 10 exclusively for PlayStation 4. It is the last game in the series Naughty Dog plans to make and the final one that stars Nathan Drake. However, there could be an Uncharted 5.

GameSpot scored Uncharted 4 a 10/10.

"In its writing, in its design, in its understanding of what makes games unique, Uncharted 4 is something to aspire to," critic Mike Mahardy said. "It's a shining example. And we'll be talking about it for years to come."

In other news, co-director Bruce Straley has advised against rushing through Uncharted 4. "Take your time. Its not like the last three. Don't try to gobble it down in one sitting. Settle in. Enjoy the moment," he said.

Additionally, a technical analysis of the game concluded it is a "must-play experience that delivers the rare mix of pitch perfect gameplay and high-end visuals."

Not even released and already two patches... Looks like the game is worth its empty linear world.

SO glad I played Rise of the Tomb Raider before playing, I mean watching that last movie with Nate.

@playstationzone: Sony might have the patience to optimize their games, but practically every other developer doesn't.

Interesting how the game scores nearly the highest possible score on all gaming sites prior to two major day one patches. I guess Naughty Dog got lucky. Most games get early reviews with poor marks because reviewers jumped the gun to review before the patches.

@bobafetthatesu: The only thing that's really missing from the game without the patches is multiplayer. Most games probably can't get a taste of what the multiplayer is like before release anyway.

@bobafetthatesu:

Maybe the game is not that bad even without the patches?

@bobafetthatesu: Yep, I guess that means one of two things:

The game is amazing even without the much needed patch to remedy it's glitches.

or

Paid reviews!

I'm erring on the former for now.
