Uncharted 4 Wins Best Writing Award

Naughty Dog's acclaimed action-adventure game Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has picked up another award. The PS4-exclusive took home the Outstanding Achievement In Video Game Writing award at the Writers Guild Awards.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Far Cry Primal, and Mr. Robot 1.51exfiltratiOn.ipa were also nominated. Here is a picture of Naughty Dog developers holding their latest trophy:

To be eligible, games had to be released between December 1, 2015 and November 30, 2016 and feature on-screen credits. Writers did not need to be part of the Writers Guild of America to be considered. The games were judged by a panel that included people who are "active in video game writing."

This is just the latest win for Uncharted 4. It won multiple awards at The Game Awards in December, including Best Performance (Nolan North for Nathan Drake) and Best Narrative. The game also took home animation and visual effects awards are different awards show this month.

Looking ahead, Uncharted 4 is nominated for awards at the upcoming Game Developers Choice Awards and SXSW Awards.

The 2016 nominees for Outstanding Achievement in Video Game Writing were:

  • Far Cry Primal -- Story by Jean-Sebastien Decant, Ian C. Ryan, Kevin Shortt; Lead Writers Ian C. Ryan, Kevin Shortt; Writers Lynne Kamm, Susan Patrick.
  • Mr. Robot 1.51exfiltratiOn.ipa -- Story by Adam Hines, Kor Adana; Written by Adam Hines.
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief's End -- Written by Neil Druckmann, Josh Scherr; Additional Writing Tom Bissell, Ryan James.
