Revealed in a new trailer today at PlayStation Experience.

During the PlayStation Experience keynote address today, Sony released a new trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End that confirms the action game will offer branching dialogue options.

In a scene shown today, Sam Drake asks Nathan Drake to tell him more about what he missed while he was away. As you can see in the image above, Nathan Drake has three choices in how he responds.

  • "I found El Dorado..."
  • "I explored Shambhala..."
  • "I discovered Iram of the Pillars..."

Branching dialogue is common in role-playing games, but this is the first time it's shown up in an Uncharted game. Whether or not how you respond affects how the game plays out remains to be seen. We also don't know yet if branching dialogue will be widely available in the game, or only in some portions.
