The force was strong with Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy for the week of September 17-23, as it managed to retain its position as the UK's best-selling game on the all-formats chart for a second week running. Chart-Track reports that the LucasArts game dropped 49 percent in sales from the week before, but it was still enough to hold off Just Cause, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, and LMA Manager 2007, which were new entries at numbers two, three, and four, respectively.

As a result of the onslaught, most other games dropped places for the week. Dead Rising and Saints Row were both sitting in the top three the previous week, but the two Xbox 360-exclusive titles each dropped five places, to numbers seven and eight, respectively. The latest chart is also notable for being the first time in 14 weeks that Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories has dropped out of the Top 10 lineup. Take-Two's side story wound up at 11, while Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was a nonmover at 18.

Games that fared better included Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training, which reached 16 weeks in the top 10 and was a nonmover at number six. EA's The Godfather reappeared in the top 10 thanks to its belated release on the Xbox 360, making an impressive jump from 24 to nine. While there were no other new entries on the chart, Project Gotham Racing 3 did make a reentry at number 26, thanks to the recent release of a new Xbox 360 console package in the UK.

This Friday sees a number of high-profile releases, with FIFA 07 and Company of Heroes vying to make the next chart. Sony's B-Boy, Capcom's Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, and Nintendo's 42 All-Time Classics could also make a splash, so check back soon to see how they fare.
