Ubisoft's Gods & Monsters New Name Officially Confirmed
The "game formerly known as Gods and Monsters" appears to be putting its protagonist front and center.
Update: Ubisoft has now announced an upcoming Ubisoft Forward, and in the process it confirmed the revised name for Gods & Monsters. It is called Immortals, Fenyx Rising, and we'll see our first look at it during the presentation next week. The original story follows.
When a demo of Gods & Monsters leaked in June, Ubisoft pointed out that it was an older build and that the game wasn't even named that anymore. We may know the new name thanks to a ratings board leak from Taiwan.
As noted by Gematsu and supported by analyst Daniel Ahmad on Twitter, the new title seems to be Ubisoft's Immortals: Fenyx Rising. We already knew that Fenyx was the name of the protagonist, but the rest is new. In a statement following the Stadia leak, Ubisoft's Marc-Alexis Cote called it "the game formerly known as Gods and Monsters," so we've known a name-change was on the way.
That Stadia leak allowed players to try the E3 2019 demo codenamed Orpheus for a brief time, which some compared to a blend of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It was even said to borrow some UI elements directly from Odyssey, though Ubisoft says that the game has "evolved in surprising ways."
It is. https://t.co/YlNeFMCeAi

The first look at Gods and Monsters appeared to be a more animated take on the setting and mythological elements of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, so borrowing some of its interface elements makes sense at least as a starting point. The game is still aiming for release by March 2021, so the company may be planning to unveil all that's changed--including the title--sometime soon.
