Ubisoft: Xbox One, PS4 preorders two times past gen
Yves Guillemot says some retailers reporting double the number of preorders compared to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
During a post-earnings call today, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said some retailers are reporting Xbox One and PlayStation 4 preorder figures being double those of their predecessors.
"Some retailers are saying--not all of them--but some retailers are saying that their preorders are two times what they sold at the last generation launch," Guillemot said. "At the moment they are really getting more preorders than what they saw before."
The Xbox One and PS4 are both currently sold out at GameStop, while day-one editions of the consoles are also unavailable on Amazon. Strong consumer demand for the Xbox One and PS4 during E3 last month helped the retailer post its biggest preorder week of all time for games.
Both consoles launch later this year.
