Ubisoft to create Trollz game
Wild-haired dolls hit their teen years in upcoming fantasy game for handhelds.
Ubisoft has signed a deal with DIC Entertainment to create fantasy games based on updated versions of the beloved, wild-haired Trollz dolls. The new batch of Trollz are teenagers who "grow up in a world filled with gnomes, ogres, dragons, and magic," according to a Ubisoft statement.
The company said its Trollz game will focus on the magical talents, styles, and personalities of the characters, as well as their friendships with each other. A release for handhelds is planned in late 2005, with other formats to follow. The game is part of a bigger campaign for the Trollz, which will include books, toys, mobile content, and home entertainment.
"The Trollz are back with a hairstyle vengeance," said Laurent Detoc, president of Ubisoft North America. "We are excited to be able to bring these characters to life." For a sneak peek, visit the Trollz Web site.
GameSpot will report more on the upcoming Trollz game as we get it.
