Ubisoft Teases New IP, Other Reveals Coming At E3 2017

What could its new IP be?

Ubisoft recently announced that it's working on Far Cry 5, a new Assassin's Creed game, and Crew 2, and it's likely that those games will show up at E3 2017. But today the company released a teaser for its E3 lineup that suggests that it has a lot more to show off.

There's not much actually shown in the video, and that's by design--two Ubisoft employees joke with CEO Yves Guillemot that they had to redact a lot of footage because so much of Ubisoft's lineup hasn't been announced yet. However, it's still possible to glean some information from the teaser. Check it out at the top of this article.

Now Playing: Ubisoft - E3 2017 Lineup Reveal Trailer

One of those redacted frames says that Ubisoft is saving a new IP to reveal at the conference. We already knew from an earnings call that Ubisoft will release a new IP in the fiscal year from April 2018-March 2019, and it looks like we might get a first glimpse at E3.

In addition, the teaser video reveals that Ubisoft is planning on showing "Easter eggs deemed a PR risk," something that "Yves [will] announce during conference." It also promised "a new feature," but that's left incredibly vague.

Recently, there have been a few leaks seemingly from the new Assassin's Creed game. Earlier this month, a screenshot purported to show the game's protagonist, and this week a leaked promotional t-shirt seemed to confirm the character as Ba Yek. The game is rumored to be called Assassin's Creed: Origins and may be set in Ancient Egypt.

As for Far Cry 5, the game had a big reveal last week, and we learned that it's set in modern-day Montana and focuses on a fanatical doomsday cult. It's due out on February 27 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

I would get hyped for this but lately all of Ubisoft's games have been a glitchy mess so I'm going to have to boycott Ubisoft for a bit at least until they can get there act together and go back to being one of my favorite publishers. It's ashame really because Ubisoft is the 2nd publisher that I have lost faith in 1st it was Capcom and they seem to have only gotten worse over the years to the point where I don't even care what they do hope Ubisoft doesn't end up the same way but it's steadily looking like they will.

The new Ip is a game set in harsh economic times and you must struggle to overcome hostile takeovers from business moguls.

Yeah. Just keep on pumping them out Ubisoft. The sad thing is that their bottom lines will be so solid for so long before anything is done about their work ethics.

i thoroughly enjoyed far cry 4, it was essentially far cry 3 but i never finished that either and skipped the primal edition.

I can see similarities already here in far cry 5 to far cry 3 and 4 with the 3 truck vehicle patrols roaming and religious gang camps , i hope ubisoft offer something different this time round than far cry 4 mechanics.

As a video gamer, I want it to be good. As an experienced video gamer I know to set the bar low for Ubisoft.

How about giving us Beyond Good & Evil 2? Every year I hope they show us it at E3 and every year they disappoint.

I kinda hope ubisoft decides on taking a different approach with their new ip. I have been playing alot of Ghost Recon Wildlands the past few weeks and it reminded me as to how lazy most of their open world games are. Id rather have a smaller, more focused experience than to take this big open world and copy past the same 5 tasks for me to repeat 100 times.

@uncha1n3d: it'll be a different approach, it'll be a mountain climber who hunts mountain lions and billy goats and what not in an open world, then masked men move onto the mountain and start abusing the people in his village so the hunter becomes.....The Hunter, a vigilante who kills the masked men and climbs conveniently placed towers and assaults checkpoints.....

Nothing more annoying then these companies announcing games years before release....stop it....and on top of that last year when Ubisoft was teasing a new IP it turned out to be Steep....lame as hell...
