Ubisoft Has One More Huge Game From A Major Series Due Before March 2021

Ubisoft's latest earnings report boasts of the publisher's line-up for the rest of the financial year, which includes at least one unannounced AAA game.

Ubisoft has five major AAA games due to release before the end of the next financial year, one of which is yet to be revealed. In the company's latest financial report, they boast of having "the most ambitious line-up of the industry", and tease a game that has not yet been announced. Given what the company has already shown off, there are only a few options for what that game could be. One potential game would be the first in its series in several years.

On page 15 the report, Ubisoft's slate for the next year includes Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, Gods & Monsters, and "one other unannounced AAA title coming from our biggest franchises."

Of course, there's an obvious question worth asking here--is it Splinter Cell? It's not super likely, although we could see Sam Fisher return for the next-generation of consoles, as Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot has said that the character and franchise could return once Ubisoft is able to "do something novel" with it. Sequels to The Crew, Driver, and Prince of Persia also feel less likely than, say, a new Far Cry, considering how well 4 and 5 sold. Prince of Persia was apparently due for a comeback several years ago, but the project was canceled and footage made its way online.

The report also notes that the studio will release other games with "deep social layers," such as Roller Champions, Brawlhalla, and Tom Clancy's Elite Squad. This is surely where the next Just Dance title will fit, too.

There's no word of further games on this page, or whether Ubisoft will bring more games to Switch in the next financial year. Rainbow Six: Siege will also be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X at launch.
