Ubi Soft relaunches Strategic Simulations line

Several upcoming games--IL-2: Forgotten Battles, Harpoon 4, and Lock On--and unannounced projects will fall under the relaunched SSI brand.

Ubi Soft has announced that its upcoming combat simulation games will be published under the Strategy Simulations brand, commonly referred to as SSI. Ubi Soft has a number of upcoming historical and modern-day simulations that will fall under the new label, notably IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles, Larry Bond's Harpoon 4, and Lock On: Modern Air Combat. There are also three unannounced projects targeted for 2004 and 2006.

"Ubi Soft has had tremendous success in the combat simulation category," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubi Soft. "With the already proven strength and longevity of the Strategic Simulations brand on our side, we're solidly committed to the genre, and we have some great titles coming out over the next several months that we're really excited about."

Ubi Soft also announced release dates for the Strategic Simulations games. IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles is due out in March, IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles is scheduled for release in early May, and IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles will ship in July.
