Only a week after it was announced that the Xbox will be the only console to get Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 this year, Ubi Soft has today announced that both Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Beyond Good & Evil will be console exclusives for the PS2 in 2003. Today's announcement only concerns Europe and other PAL territories, and both games are still scheduled for release on the PC and all current console platforms in North America in November.

"Both of these games uniquely showcase the fun of PlayStation 2 gaming," said Alain Corre, managing director for Europe, Asia Pacific, and South America, Ubi Soft Entertainment. "Following their enthusiastic reception at E3, there is already great consumer excitement building in anticipation of the launch of these exclusive PlayStation 2 games. We'll be putting unprecedented marketing support behind both these titles and predict great sales success during Christmas 2003."

"We welcome Ubi Soft's decision to publish Prince of Persia and Beyond Good & Evil exclusively on the PlayStation 2 during 2003," said David Patton, vice president of marketing at SCEE. "These games set new standards in console gaming and undoubtedly will broaden the appeal of the PlayStation 2 to new audiences."
