Ubi Soft Announces Atlanta Lineup

Tonic Trouble, Formula 1 racing and soccer games are coming from the creator of POD and Rayman.

Ubi Soft Entertainment recently announced a new lineup of titles it plans to show at E3 this year, for both PC and console platforms.

Tonic Trouble: An action-adventure game starring a friendly alien named Ed who needs to find a can, which he dropped from space, that's caused strange reactions on Earth. The enemy is Grogh the Hellish, who wants to use the contents of the can to (go figure) rule the world. Due this fall for PC CD-ROM and DVD, with an Nintendo 64 release in spring 1998.

F1 Pole Position 64: This title, for the Nintendo 64 only, is billed as a systems-first Formula 1 racer. It features 16 tracks based on the Grand Prix circuit, 22 F1 racing cars, and 30 drivers - all based on the 1996 season. Players will experience real events such as spin-outs, electrical trouble and transmission damage. It's also the first game to have Wireless Pit Communication, so players feel like they're driving and listening to the radio at the same time. Due this fall. It was released earlier in Japan as Human Grand Prix.

F1 Racing Simulation: A real-time Formula 1 simulation with 22 cars, 16 tracks, 12 car settings, and multiplayer capability for up to eight players. It also includes advanced AI, real-time pit stops, data logs, and television replays. Due for a fall release on PC CD-ROM.

World Soccer: A 2-D simulation of one of the world's most popular games, this title has 358 teams and 5,610 European players. It includes five game modes, three camera angles, adjustable speed, and multiplayer options for up to four players. World Soccer is due for release in the fall.

Vivid Racing: This is a 32-bit 3-D racing and fighting game that takes place in the year 3001. Nine supercomputers dominate the world, each code-named after a type of wildcat. These machines can create virtual worlds and events for a series of competitive and cutthroat races. Coming out on the PlayStation and Saturn in fall.

Rayman Gold: Not a standalone game, this product includes tools to create 24 different Rayman maps. Seventeen maps from the original Rayman adventure are included, along with online features so connected players can exchange and download new levels. For PC-ROM only, this title is due out this summer.

Other titles Ubi Soft will demo at the show include Classic Rock Guitar Volume 3, Piano Hits Volume 1, Artist! Drawing 101, and kid's adventure Choose Your Adventure with Valdo.
