Ubi announces final Uru expansion pack

Path of the Shell will be the Myst sequel's last update and will be available either individually or as part of a compilation.

Today Ubisoft revealed that the latest chapter in the Myst saga is coming to an end. The newly announced Uru: The Path of the Shell will be the last expansion pack for Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, according to the publisher. It follows the second expansion, Uru: To D'ni, which is downloadable from the official Uru site.

Whereas Ages Beyond Myst examined the D'ni's past through the series' trademark blend of exploration and puzzle-solving, To D'ni looked at the mysterious race's present. The Path of the Shell completes the temporal circle by delving into the D'ni's future. GameSpot's review has more details on Uru: Ages Beyond Myst.

While To D'ni was a free download (launched in the wake of the cancellation of Uru Live), Path of the Shell will cost $19.99 when it ships to stores on July 13. It will also be available as part of the box Uru: Complete Chronicles, which will bundle Uru and both expansion packs into one $39.99 package.
