Empire Interactive has announced the release of Typing of the Dead, its typing game based on the horror-action game House of the Dead 2. In the game, players must fight hordes of zombies that have taken over a city, but instead of simply shooting guns at the zombies, they must type words that are attached to each zombie. If they type fast enough, the zombies are destroyed, but if they aren't fast enough, the zombies attack.

The game includes a number of game modes, including story-based arcade mode, original mode, tutorial mode, boss mode, and drill mode. Original mode gives the players bonus items according to typing accuracy, and tutorial mode features speed and accuracy tests.

Typing of the Dead was developed by Sega, and it is now available in stores for an approximate retail price of $19.99.
