Twitch Launches New "Social Eating" Category

Video streaming behemoth Twitch continues to expand its categories. The site has now launched one called "Social Eating," and it's exactly what it sounds like: a place where you can go to watch people eat things.

One user, pokimane, ate so many nuggets that she needed a nap. As of 8:39 AM ET, she's still napping. Nuggets are good.

Social Eating is part of the non-gaming Twitch Creative umbrella. You can also watch people doing things like glass-blowing, scrapbooking, and crocheting.

The new Social Eating category isn't all that popular at the moment. There are fewer than a dozen live channels right now, though there are plenty more archived videos to watch. Head to the Social Eating landing page to see all of them, but prepare yourself for some things you may not be able to un-see.

In other news about Twitch Creative, which launched in 2015, the network airs Bob Ross' The Joy of Painting every Monday on a channel dedicated to the late artist. More recently, Twitch ran a 24-hour marathon of Julia Child's The Joy of Cooking.
