Trion Worlds closing UK office
Defiance and Rift company shutting down publishing office in Guildford, UK; 12 non-development jobs lost as a result.
Less than a week after Trion Worlds announced it would close its San Diego studio, the company confirmed today that it will shut down its European publishing office in Guildford, UK.
12 jobs will be cut as a result, though a Trion Worlds representative said no one attached to development, customer service, or localization was affected.
"As part of its recent company realignment, Trion's European publishing office based in Guildford, UK, will be closing down," the company said. "European localized versions of Trion’s live and upcoming games will not be affected as all regional game development and support continues from Redwood City, CA."
In an email to Trion Worlds last week, new CEO Scott Hartsman said, "We're going to rapidly be laying the groundwork for a new strategy for Trion--one that's closer to the foundation of how we've had our wins so far, and then extending that base into the enduring success this company can, and will, be."
Trion Worlds operates Defiance and a Rift, among others.
