Transformers Card Game Gets First Oversized Expansion
It's a Transformer that turns into a city.
Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, Hasbro's subsidiary and publisher of Magic: The Gathering, have revealed information about their upcoming trading card game Transformers and its first expansion the Metroplex Deck.
The new trading card game, which will be available for purchase on September 28, takes characters from the world of Transformers and allows players to have them battle each other using additional cards. Additionally, these characters "transform" during battle by flipping them over. At San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro had exclusive booster packs featuring two transforming character cards and two action cards. It seems like a pretty easy to grasp game that has complexity to its deck building and strategy.
While the game has not been released yet, the first expansion has been revealed. Metroplex is the biggest Transformer card yet, a robot who transformed into an entire city. The card is bigger than other character cards, coming in at eight inches tall.
This new set will contain the titan card Metroplex, his component character cards, Scamper, Six-Gun, and Slammer, and a 40-card deck of battle cards--which includes Rally the City, Height Advantage, and Protected by Metroplex, not available in previous sets. This first expansion will be available for purchase on November 21.
