Strategy First has announced that Trainz, its model railroad simulation, has shipped and will soon arrive in stores. The game lets players design, build, and run their own custom track layouts based on locations from the Eastern US to the Australian Outback. It features a variety of locomotives and cars, and the trains can be controlled either from the driver's view or from a train spotter view. In addition to the in-game environments and locomotives, the game includes Discreet's gmax game pack, which lets users create and import custom 3D content into the game.

Trainz was developed by Auran, the Australian game developer that created the real-time strategy game Dark Reign, and it will soon be available in stores for an approximate retail price of $39.95. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
