Tom Hanks reunites with producer/director Robert Zemeckis with Apple TV+'s upcoming film, Finch. Originally scheduled for a theatrical release in October 2020, Apple acquired the film this past August and is releasing it on its streaming platform on November 5.

Previously tiled Bios, Finch stars Tom Hanks as a lone survivor with his dog, but after he builds a robot, voiced by actor Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men: First Class, Twin Peaks) he sets off on a journey to try and find a new home for the three of them. Check out the first trailer below.

Finch is directed by Emmy-winner and television director Miguel Sapochnik, who is mostly known for some of the most important, and critically-acclaimed, episodes of Game of Thrones. Finch is only his second feature film and the first in over a decade. Sapochnik will be returning to Game of Thrones as he is directing the first episode of House of the Dragon.

The film also stars Lora Martinez-Cunningham, Marie Wagenman, Christopher Farrar, Oscar Avila, and Kennedi Butler. It’s written by newcomer Craig Luck and legendary sci-fi producer Ivor Powell (Alien, Blade Runner).

With Apple's big wins at the Emmy Awards this year, and having already acquired Hanks' WWII drama Greyhound last year, they're really starting to position themselves as a powerhouse in the platform wars.
