Reckon you're one of the UK's best gamers? Game Frontier has teamed up with the SGL and Dustworld to announce one of the last qualifying events for the Electronic Sports World Cup UK Finals 2006. Taking place in Bristol from Friday, May 26 to Monday, May 29, the SGL ESWC UK 2006 LAN will host a 400-player, bring-your-own-computer LAN with a dedicated competition arena.

The official tournaments will include Counter-Strike 1.6 (5v5), Quake 4 (1v1), and Warcraft 3 (1v1), and some of the best pro gamers in the country will be looking for places at the ESWC UK 2006 finals. The UK finals, set to be in early June, will be shown on digital channel Propeller TV.

The UK champions will take on gamers from other nations at the ESWC Grand Finals in Paris between June 28 and July 2, 2006. As well as receiving the honor of being the best in the world, there will also be a $400,000 prize fund on offer.
