Total War: Warhammer Breaks Franchise Sales Records

Total War: Warhammer is off to a fast start. Sega announced today that the PC strategy game has passed 500,000 sales since launch on Tuesday, helping the game to become the "fastest-selling Total War title on Steam" ever.

In a press release, Creative Assembly studio director Tim Heaton said sales at this level make Warhammer a "runaway commercial success." Additionally, he shared that the game "regularly" eclipses 100,000 concurrent players.

According to the Steam Stats page, the game had more than 98,900 concurrent players today, May 27, at peak.

Creative Assembly also reminded players that they have until May 31 to get the Chaos Warriors Race Pack free when they buy the game. As announced previously, this comes with three new Legendary Lords, additional units, and more mounts, among other things.

GameSpot's Warhammer review scored the game a 9/10.

Warhammer is the first in a trilogy, while Creative Assembly also has plans for to support the first game with DLC in the months ahead.

Additionally, Creative Assembly is working on this year's Halo Wars 2 for Xbox One and PC.
